Back of Beyond Stand Up Paddle Race
September 5-7, 2020
‘A day at the Lake’ – The day will be spent 9 miles south of Moab off the LaSal loop Road at Ken’s Lake. The Back of Beyond SUP Race will be a day of races, demos, and fun surrounded by the spectacular red rock canyons of Southeastern Utah and past some of the world’s most breathtaking scenery and into Utah’s own ‘back of beyond’.
‘The Standup Showdown’ – We switches gear to the whitewater. Located at Rocky Rapid, the whitewater race will challenge even the most skilled paddlers through some of the funnest whitewater in Moab.
The Back of Beyond Paddle Race is taking place in Moab, Utah. See driving chart below if you are planning on driving or you can fly in to the Moab airport, which has daily flights from Salt Lake City, UT and Denver, CO. Moab has plenty of hotels and camping to chose from. Not to mention the myriad of things to do when the race is over. Hiking, biking, climbing, jeeping, rafting, sky diving, and more paddling.

The first day of racing starts 9 miles south of Moab at Ken’s Lake, The Back of Beyond SUP Race will be a lake race surrounded by the spectacular red rock canyons of Southeastern Utah and past some of the world’s most breathtaking scenery and into Utah’s own ‘back of beyond’.
The Second day is a rowdy boarder cross style whitewater race on Rocky Rapid. Heats of six racers will head down stream around buoys and navigate some big wave class II/III rapids.
The Back of Beyond Paddle Race takes place over two days in the adventure town of Moab, Utah.
